British theatre and television operator and producer, Russell Miller has 30 years professional experience operating commercial theatres and entertainment venues internationally.
He currently has multiple television and theatrical projects in development and production as a series creator, producer, co-producer and consulting producer and is represented by Buchwald.
Previously as Director of International Operations for the Ambassador Theatre Group, the world’s largest theatre owner/operator, he is now the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Freedom Theatricals.
His illustrious career to date includes operating 12 regional UK theatres, 10 West End Theatres, 7 US venues on Broadway, in Brooklyn, New Orleans and San Antonio and set up the business/commercial infrastructure to support the reopening after almost 50 years of the Hudson Theatre on Broadway, with Academy Award nominee, Jake Gyllenhaal starring in “Sunday in the Park with George”.
Russell also oversaw the opening of Cirque De Soleil’s Broadway debut hit musical, “Paramour” and Molière’s “Misanthrope” with Kiera Knightly in her West End debut with Damien Lewis, as well as
the West End revival of “Guys & Dolls” with Ewan McGregor and Patrick Swayze, which broke box office records, recouping in only 12 weeks.
Russell’s connectivity and reach within the industry is enormous; Russell is accustomed to working with the most established and respected theatre and entertainment professionals including top press, ad agencies and award-winning creatives to bring together new theatrical productions and television experiences for the world stages and networks.
His network and experience provide an independent point of access to an established community of theatre and entertainment professionals. His reach connects directly to regional venues and communities across the US, UK, Europe and Australia with a unique source of data and expertise to expedite and elevate sales and marketing opportunities.
In 2012, Russell directly lead 90 departments and over 1200 venue staff to oversee the planning and delivery of events for the London Olympic Games, viewed at peak by an audience of over 3 billion.
He is the author and creator of the best-selling children’s book “Broadway Baby” (IPG) and a contributor to ABTT Theatres; A design Guide (Routledge), business consultant and external advisor to Bain & Co.
